This doesn't seem like a very active forum (prove me wrong) but it does seem to be the appropriate place for this question.

I am currently setting up a web site using Tikiwiki and was wondering there is any way to generate a compiled HTML Help file based on documentation in the Wiki pages.

Since I am using Tikiwiki, I am obviously most interested in doing it from Tikiwiki. If this is not possible, I would still be interested if this is a feature supported by any other wiki engines, such as Mediawiki.

Since this site is based on Tikiwiki and handles Microsoft Help technologies, I thought that you guys would know the answer!

Thanks in advance

What format should I use to build documentation for Vista.

Hi.

I have a build process which takes around 16,000 XML files and creates several different outputs, depending upon the requirement.

1 - HTML suitable for web use.
2 - MS HTML Help 1.x project files to compile into a CHM file using MS HTML Help Compiler.
3 - PDF.

The application is being ported to work with Vista.

I would like to build appropriate documentation for this platform.

I'm NOT using Vista, but I do have testers capable of testing the help system.

I'm being pushed to drop the MS support completely and go with Osofts ThoutReader.

But, I persevere with MS.

I've read that Vista has a new help system. HLP's are no longer supported automatically. CHM support is only for critical fixes. So what do I need?

Help/suggestions/etc.

Regards,

Richard Quadling.

Annotations were such a great way to collection notes about a task or feature. We also used them for content reviews. I imagine developers would find them useful for storing code snippets.

WinHelp 3/4, HH 1.x, and Help 2 have all had some capability for creating dynamic links with keywords. The A link capability is particularly useful for both creating dynamic links within a help system and to a help system. We need to have this ability in AP 2, and it needs to be separate from any visible indexing scheme. (The usefulness of the A link is in its invisibility, hence, it's stability through localization).
